Philipp (Phil) Renner is the founder and CEO of Tyger Brands, a Southeast Asian consumer brands company building the region’s leading portfolio of pet brands. Its flagship brand, Dr. Shiba, pioneered functional treats and supplements for dogs and cats in the Philippines, and has since evolved into a full-spectrum pet brand covering daily nutrition, supplements, and everything a dog owner needs in one place. Under his leadership, Tyger Brands has served over 3 million customers across five markets — the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the UK — with distribution through 1,500+ retail locations and major e-commerce platforms.

A former McKinsey senior engagement manager with an MBA from Columbia Business School, Renner founded Tyger Brands in 2022 with a clear thesis: pet owners in Southeast Asia deserved science-backed nutrition without the premium price tag or the guesswork. Dr. Shiba quickly became one of the leading pet care brands on TikTok Shop Philippines and holds top positions on LazMall and Shopee Mall, driven by a content-first, commerce-led growth strategy built without traditional VC funding.

The portfolio has since expanded with Prof. Bengal, a dedicated cat wellness brand bringing the same functional nutrition approach to cat owners, and Dr. Akita, which extends the model into Western markets. Renner is also an active angel investor and startup advisor in the healthcare and technology space.
