With more than 15 years in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, Emily Chong assumes the role of deputy general manager at Pizza Hut Malaysia since 2017. Emily focuses on brand & communications as well as the dine-in channel, and has since successfully turn around dine-in and improved the brand conversion of its target audience.
Prior to joining Pizza Hut Malaysia, Emily began her career with Cadbury where she enjoyed many of the consumer insights, new product and brand proposition developmental work. Her experience then led her to joining Unilever (Sunsilk) and continued to strengthen its market leadership through engaging brand communications work.
Emily then assumed the role of marketing manager at Kimberly Clark (Kleenex) playing the key role in setting the business direction of the portfolio with P&L responsibilities and successfully transformed its margin structure through brand architecture and portfolio mapping work, underpinning the innovations roadmap roll-out.
A short stint with the PETRONAS Lubricant Asia Pacific team also expanded her experience and vision beyond Malaysia with a new set of marketing environments and challenges.
Emily believes that consumer-centricity is at the heart of all she does. It inspires good marketing work, transforms and moves businesses into being relevant and meaningful for the community and organisation. An ability to make matters happen and helping others to do the same keeps her passionate about marketing every day.
