Joe Zaldarriaga, or widely known as “Manong Joe,” is a multi-awarded communications executive whose leadership has put Meralco at the forefront of Philippine public relations, locally and on the international stage.

As Meralco’s primary spokesperson, he stands as one of the most prominent figures in the industry. Zaldarriaga has spent decades managing high-stakes crisis communications for the country’s largest power distributor and in the most consequential industry moments, bringing the credibility of a seasoned journalist and the polish of a veteran media personality to every engagement.

Beyond the podium, Zaldarriaga is a tireless advocate for media literacy and consumer empowerment. He also champions animal welfare behind the scenes, stewarding Meralco’s flagship animal welfare program, CATropa. He continues to champion communication and PR excellence, as he currently serves as a Board Trustee and Treasurer of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). He is a former Chairman and President of IABC Philippines, where he remains an active advisor. Beyond his leadership roles, he shares his expertise as a columnist for both the Philippine Star and the Philippine News Agency.
