Rhys Buccat is the head of strategic communications and engagement at Ayala Healthcare Holdings (AC Health), where he leads the company’s communications function and the group communications council across Ayala Corporation’s healthcare platform. In this role, he oversees corporate communications, media relations, executive communications, crisis management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships, serving as a trusted adviser to the president and CEO and the leadership team.

With more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, media relations, editorial management, and digital communications, Buccat has built a career at the intersection of journalism and corporate reputation.

Prior to joining AC Health, he was lead for brand and reputation management at Ayala Corporation, where he helped shape the conglomerate’s external communications strategy, editorial production, social media, and media relations, strengthening Ayala’s brand reputation. He also previously worked as a content management officer at Metrobank, overseeing integrated content strategy across the bank’s digital platforms.

Buccat began his career in journalism at ABS-CBN News, where he served in various editorial roles, including community manager, digital news writer, and lead for advertorials. He produced more than a thousand stories and managed high-impact branded content campaigns for leading local and international brands. He also served as senior editor at Hong Kong-based Knowledge Growth Support, editing academic manuscripts for publication in international journals.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Buccat is passionate about strategic storytelling, reputation management, and the evolving role of public relations in building trust and driving organizational impact.
