Shamsidar Yahya has served as the senior director of corporate communications at McDonald’s Malaysia since 2019. In this role, she leads initiatives to enhance the company’s brand trust and positively impact communities, driving the narrative of McDonald’s as a socially responsible and community-oriented organisation.

With 30 years of experience in multinational companies, Shamsidar brings a wealth of knowledge from various industries, including oil and gas, fast-moving consumer goods, and the dairy sector. She began her career in commercial roles before progressing into corporate affairs and communications.

Under Shamsidar’s leadership, McDonald’s Malaysia has been recognised with the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Award for five consecutive years. This accolade is a testament to her dedication to the company’s purpose of feeding and fostering communities, as well as her commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

In addition to her role in corporate communications, Shamsidar is a member of the Internal Halal Committee of McDonald’s Malaysia. She plays a crucial role in communicating with stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies, about the organisation’s Halal practices and certifications, ensuring transparency and trust in McDonald’s Halal standards.
