Melissa Shannon is the Managing Director of Global Digital Sales and Marketing at Standard Chartered where she is leading the bank’s digital sales and marketing transformation. She has 24 years global agency and client-side digital sales, product management and marketing experience.
Having started in digital around its inception, she had to roll up her sleeves and assume responsibility for a variety of digital roles, growing as the industry was learning and maturing. She considers herself lucky enough to work with some terrific mentors that believed in her and invested in her development.
Her experience spans over 30 countries, where she has been responsible for unlocking new revenue streams both in mature and emerging markets.
Shannon’s personal mission is to create and deliver experiences that empower the user, enrich client relationships and achieve the desired commercial outcome. She loves creating opportunities from a blank canvas, and is most comfortable when she is pushed to think ‘outside of the box’. One of the things Shannon has become known for is her ability to leverage technology to innovate and unlock new revenue streams.
