Lian is Singtel’s head of Strategic Communications and Brand where she drives the strategy, planning and execution of integrated communications and branding programmes involving a range of enterprise, consumer, digital businesses and subsidiaries across Asia, Australia and the Americas. Her responsibilities include corporate and financial communications; media relations; issues management and crisis communications; executive visibility; digital and internal communications. She’s developed effective, culturally relevant strategies to brand build and raise brand awareness through festive and seasonal branding, purpose and sustainability branding, ensuring brand consistency, and hands-on production and management of branded content.
Lian’s double hatting in communications and brand marketing taps on her extensive experience as an international broadcast journalist with Bloomberg, Aljazeera and CNN where she was the first Singaporean anchor hired by the American news network. Beyond news, Lian was a content-maker in the factual entertainment space where she produced long form current affairs and documentary content for Discovery, History channel, Aljazeera, NHK etc. Prior to Singtel, Lian was Senior Vice President at Mediacorp Pte Ltd where she was Chief Editor of Channel News Asia International, setting editorial agenda and overseeing production
