Dr Sai Cheong Siu

Dr Sai Cheong Siu is the Director of the Deep Learning Research and Application Centre, and Associate Professor at the School of Translation, at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. His research interests are artificial intelligence, translation/interpreting technology, natural language processing, and Buddhist scripture translation.
He has published books on sutra translation, and developed the HSUHK Business Translation Index (www.hsuhkbti.com), a free web-based multilingual database of business terminology.
His recent papers include: “Automated pre-editing and post-editing: A hybrid approach to the computerised translation of initial public offering (IPO) prospectuses”; and “TranXearch: An intelligent search engine for translators.”
His current projects “Machine translation of IPO prospectuses”, and “A hybrid approach to the translation of government press releases: integration of translation memories and neural machine translation” are supported by the Innovation and Technology Fund, and the Research Grants Council respectively.
